Product description
This replacement keyboard with reference L14379-071 is the specific solution for HP EliteBook laptops from the 745, 840, and 846 series (G5 and G6 generations) that include a point stick as standard. Designed for seamless integration, it features a Spanish key layout (QWERTY with Ñ) and the characteristic point stick for navigation.
This component is the non-backlit version, with black keys and a silver frame, maintaining the original aesthetic of the equipment. It is essential for repairs where the original keyboard has suffered liquid damage, key wear, or point stick failure. As a direct replacement, it ensures a typing and control experience identical to the factory original.
Before purchasing, it is crucial to verify that your original keyboard also has a point stick, as models without this device are not compatible in terms of chassis or connection. Compare the images and compatible part numbers to ensure a successful repair.
This keyboard is a direct replacement component. Installation requires intermediate technical knowledge, as in many EliteBook models it is necessary to disassemble the top cover of the laptop. Make sure that the part number of your original keyboard matches L14379-071 or L15542-071 and, above all, that your equipment is a version with a point stick.

Frequently asked questions
My EliteBook 840 G5 has a keyboard without a point stick, is this model compatible?
No, this keyboard is not compatible. It is designed exclusively for HP EliteBook models that originally come with a point stick. The chassis, anchors, and connection to the motherboard are different. You must purchase a replacement that exactly matches the characteristics of your original keyboard.
I have the backlit version, can I install this non-backlit keyboard?
Although it might physically fit, it is not recommended. The connector may be different, and you would lose the backlight functionality. To ensure full compatibility and maintain the features of your equipment, it is ideal to look for the exact replacement for the backlit version.
Is it compatible with an HP EliteBook 840 G4?
No, this keyboard is specifically designed for the G5 and G6 generations of the 745, 840, and 846 series. The anchors, shape, and flex connector are different in the G4 generation and earlier, so it will not fit or function correctly.
What is the warranty for the keyboard and how does the return work?
The keyboard has a 3-year warranty for private customers and a 1-year warranty for professionals. If it is not compatible or you change your mind, you have 14 days to return it. You can manage the return shipping yourself or request a home pickup for €8.90 in Spain and Portugal, which will be deducted from the refund.
